Hotwhip Survey #1: Is it necessary for Hotwhip to launch a 5.5L Canister?

By Jeremy September 15th, 2025 305 views
We are excited to share the findings from our very first survey!
In total, we received 460 responses, which gave us a broad and valuable perspective on customer opinions.
Each response was carefully reviewed, and we conducted a thorough analysis to ensure the results truly reflect the needs and expectations of our users.

The survey focused on whether it is necessary to introduce a new 5.5L version of Hotwhip. After compiling and analyzing the data, we identified clear trends in customer preferences as well as thoughtful suggestions that go beyond the initial question. (The winners will be announced at the end)

Let’s start by looking at the voting results:

From the voting results, we can see that 52.2% of customers expressed strong interest in a 5.5L product, 43.5% indicated they might consider purchasing it, and only 4.3% stated they were not interested.
At first glance, this suggested that launching a 5.5L version would be a clear and promising direction for us.

However, after carefully analyzing the detailed feedback submitted by users, we decided to take a different approach.
While the numbers showed enthusiasm, the insights revealed important considerations that led us to rethink and ultimately change our decision.

We carefully reviewed the detailed comments provided by users. Among the responses, 65% mentioned price, 20% highlighted convenience, and the remaining users commented on other factors such as flavor, shape, and packaging. By focusing on the two most frequently mentioned concerns—price and convenience—we concluded that launching a 5.5L product would not be the best choice.

First, because our products are shipped via courier, a heavier 5.5L version would require much stronger packaging and more parcels per shipment, which would significantly increase shipping costs and, in turn, the final price for customers.

Second, a larger product impacts convenience. In particular, in many commercial or home kitchens, some users—such as female chefs—might find it difficult to handle or maneuver the heavier and bulkier unit.

Taking these practical considerations into account, we decided that the 5.5L size is not the optimal choice for our community.

Here are some of the comments we found particularly insightful and valuable — feedback that ultimately changed our perspective and influenced our final decision:

These pieces of feedback provided us with a strong foundation for analysis and guided us toward a more balanced conclusion. After careful consideration, we ultimately decided to abandon the idea of a 5.5L product. Instead, we believe that a 4.5L size is the optimal choice, as it strikes the right balance between capacity and shipping costs.  4.5L Cream Charger Tanks product would still offer the benefit of a larger volume, while avoiding the excessive weight, higher packaging requirements, and increased transportation expenses associated with the 5.5L version. In this way, it delivers both practicality and value, making it a better fit for the needs of our customers.

In summary, we have decided not to proceed with the development of the 5.5L product. However, we are already planning for other new products that we believe will better meet customer needs.
